Daniel Stona graduated from engineering school and the Centre for International Studies of Industrial Property (CEIPI). He also holds a "European Patent Litigation" Diploma issued by the University of Strasbourg Law School.

In addition, he is an approved agent of the European Patent Office and the Office for Harmonization in the Domestic Market, Industrial Property Counsel for the French National Institute of Industrial Property and a registered Patent Attorney with the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property. After practicing in various industrial property offices for nearly 12 years in France (Lyon, Paris), 3 years in German-speaking Switzerland (Berne) and 4 years in French-speaking Switzerland (Geneva), in June 2012, he founded the his own firms: Étude Daniel Stona in France (Ferney-Voltaire) and DS-Pat in Switzerland (Geneva).

Mr. Stona is primarily concerned with patents in the fields of mechanics (general, micro-mechanics, watches, medical devices, etc.) and chemistry (organic, inorganic electrochemistry, materials, etc.) as well as supplementary protection certificates.

He also works on freedom-to-operate cases, establishment of Intellectual Property strategies, contract preparation (sale, licensing, etc.) as well as in litigation (e.g., infringement cases) involving patents.

Daniel conducts business in French (mother tongue), English and German and can also correspond in Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Esperanto.
